Types of Fabric

Many types of fabric are used to create textiles and these fabrics broadly classified into two categories one is natural and other is synthetics.



Natural fabrics are those fabrics that we get from sources such as animal, plants etc. Wool and silk are those types of fabric that we get from animal and worm. Cotton, flax and jute are those types of fabric that we get from plant. Asbestos and glass fiber are those types of fabrics that we get from mineral.


Nylon, polyester, acrylic are those types of fabric that are created by man. These fabrics are called synthetic or man made fabrics. Textiles made from these fabrics are made in various strengths and degrees of durability.


However, there is one more type of fabric i.e. Blend fabric. Blend fabric is basically a mixture of both natural and synthetic fabric. It is also a man made fabric but it is not 100% synthetic.
